House #2 Breaks Ground

Elected officials, community leaders, and supporters helped Housing Hub break ground on House #2.

We broke ground on our second home on October 28, providing another opportunity for a working family to attain their dream of homeownership. The 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house was designed for us by architect Amanda Shadowens.

Elected officials including Sen. Janice Bowling, local leadership, and community development organizations gathered to mark this milestone, which showcases Housing Hub’s strength of leveraging private investments with dedicated housing attainability efforts. This house symbolizes our belief that housing is not just a basic need, but a foundation for economic stability, community vitality, and generational opportunity.

The Housing Hub was founded with a simple but powerful mission: to make safe, affordable housing accessible for those who keep our communities running—teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, and service professionals. This home represents more than lumber and windows and paint. It’s a symbol of what’s possible when public, private, and nonprofit sectors come together with shared purpose. The Housing Hub is proud to partner with investors, elected officials, and local leaders like you—who understand that housing is infrastructure, and that investing in people is the most strategic investment we can make.

Among the partners for this house is a group we call Angels. These Angels are individuals who are investing literally in our mission by lending us funds at zero interest, and that money is building this home.  That’s why we call it the Angels’ House.  A big, big thank you to our Angels.
