The Housing Hub is a nonprofit affordable housing developer servicing Grundy County and the plateau areas of Marion and Franklin counties in Tennessee. We began in 2024, completing our first home in 2025. We serve middle to low income working families by providing affordable new homes, coaching families to be ready for homeownership, and supporting the construction workforce.
-
Housing Hub works in partnership with a variety of local organizations (like Housing Sewanee, Mountain T.O.P., and BetteFi), state and regional organizations, elected officials, and for profit entities to help break down barriers so that working families can access the resources that make homeownership attainable. Adjacent to housing, our work creates jobs, invests money into the local economy, and supports our overall community health.

Housing Hub offers two programs to qualifying households in Grundy and the plateau areas of Marion and Frankly counties in middle TN: Homeownership Program and Housing Coaching Program. Households submit an interest form via our website or at our office. As households submit their interest form for housing help, our housing coach reaches back out in 1 - 2 business days with the next steps.
-
For either of our programs, the sign-up process is the same. Simply fill out this interest form online, and our housing coach will contact you in 1 - 2 business days. Paper forms can be picked up at our office. You can also call or text (931)201-9731. If you proceed in either program, there will be more paperwork to follow.
-
The Housing Coaching Program’s requirements are simple: you must have a housing goal you are committed to achieving and commit to working with our housing coach. Housing coaching clients do not have to purchase a Housing Hub home. We can help you work through any housing goal you might have. Currently, our coaching services are free.

Our goal is to help working families who are having trouble attaining homeownership. We typically work with clients who make at or below 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI) that is based on household size. In general, we work with household incomes of 40k - 70k for a family of 4. The best thing to do is to reach out to us through our interest form and let us work with you to see what you might qualify for.

Housing Hub is a young organization. In 2025, we have completed 1 home, and we plan on developing 2 more homes. Our goal is to increase the number of homes we build each year until we get to a number that makes an impact and helps our organization be sustainable. Some of our production depends on state and federal funding. Because we operate on a mission driven reinvestment model, each house we build and sell helps us build more houses.

No, our program works with households who are able to afford a mortgage. We do not finance the purchase of our homes. Housing Hub helps households who qualify for our program purchase a home that is affordable to them through a traditional lender, like a bank, or an agency, like USDA. We are working to bring subsidies and grants to help households with their affordable mortgage that they can then use to purchase a Housing Hub home.
-
Housing Hub is currently building single family homes for sale to households who can qualify for a mortgage. However, our housing coach can work with you on a plan to change your housing situation no matter what type of housing you are in, and we can offer referrals to other agencies who might be able to help.
