Katie Goforth, Secretary

Katie is a resident of Tracy City, TN, and brings a lifelong connection to the South Cumberland Plateau. Born in Grundy County and raised in Colorado, she spent summers “on the Mountain” before returning to Tennessee in 1986. She earned an Ed.S. degree and spent many years in K–12 education before transitioning to community development in 2014. Katie has held leadership roles with the South Cumberland Health Network, the AmeriCorps VISTA Project, the South Cumberland Community Fund, and the University of the South’s Office of Civic Engagement.

Now retired, Katie can be seen out most days walking the Mountain Goat Trail with her dogs, gardening, or knitting. She also remains active in local outreach and is enthusiastic about the Housing Hub’s role in expanding homeownership and building a stronger Plateau community.
